It's a rainy day here in DC, a classic Summer storm kind of a day: hot, humid and wet. I woke up this morning around 6:15 to some serious thunder and lightening. Normally I love thunderstorms -- it's like listening to the ocean rolling and I can normally go right back to sleep. But this one was a doozy. I think I'd been having a not-so-happy dream (though I can't for the life of me remember what it was about) and the storm just didn't contribute to cozy-sleepy feelings. Of course the thing about sleeping through storms is that it's much easier to feel safe if you've got someone next to you. I had the next best thing: clean sheets.
In related news, my mom called me this morning to let me know that Gus, our three-legged Golden Retriever, clambered up the stairs for the first time since he became three-legged a year ago. I guess he went looking for my mom, cause even old dogs like to be close to someone during a storm.

That storm woke me up this morning, too. 6 am thunderstorm? I actually really, really liked it. I can't explain it.
fb -- it was kind of amazing wasn't it?
this storm woke me up this morning, causing me to be late to work, as I didn't want to be in the shower and have lightning strike me down!
I think that storm woke up everyone in the damn district - it woke up at least seven people in my office, my door lady, two people I talked to at the grocery store... Cuhrazy. I love storms, but this was a scary one!
The thunderstorm was amazing. I loved watching the lightning as I got ready for work.
Fantastic pic.
